On the Service History screen, you can view the services that have been performed (and logged) on all your vehicles. If any vehicles have services that are past due or due, they will be listed on top; past due rows will be red, and due rows will be yellow.

You can also see when services will be due in the future for individual vehicles by opening their Service History details window — and plan accordingly for them to be done.

Note: Only vehicles that have assigned LMUs (location messaging units), by ESN (electronic serial number), will be included on the Service History screen.

PRO TIP: If you have logs of when vehicle maintenance was previously performed, you can import the data into the Synovia database so that it will be listed on the Service History screen; in addition, Synovia will calculate when the services are next due for your vehicles based on your imported dates. For details, see Importing Service Records.

To view the history of your logged services, follow these steps:

  1. Click  >> Service History.

The Service History screen will appear.

The rows in red and yellow at the top are the vehicles that have services that need to be performed (past due or due, respectively).

Here is an explanation of the column headers:

    • Vehicle: The vehicle name.

    • Past Due: The number of services that are past the date they were scheduled to be performed.

    • Due: The number of services that are due to be performed today.

    • Primary Group: The primary group the vehicle is assigned to.
Note: All your vehicles must be assigned to a primary group; otherwise, tracking won't be reported correctly.
    • Device ESN: The electronic serial number of the vehicle's LMU, which is a unique numeric identifier for a GPS device.

    • Last Service Date: The most recent date the vehicle had a service logged as done.

    • Odometer: The odometer value entered when that last service was registered.

    • Engine Hours: The number of engine hours entered for the last services' log; this is usually just an estimate on the mechanic's part, if it is entered at all.

  2. To see the history of recorded services for a specific vehicle, plus when subsequent services should be performed, click  on the far left of its row.

Note: You can filter the Vehicle column to find a particular vehicle. See Sorting and Filtering Column Data for details.

The Service History for Vehicle X window will appear and list all the services scheduled for the vehicle.

The dates the next services are due for the vehicle are displayed in the Date Due column.

  3. Click  to the left of a service type to see all the vehicle's past services.

A subgrid will appear, listing all the services that were logged for the vehicle, including the date each service was performed and the odometer reading, estimated engine hours, and notes the mechanic recorded.

  4. You can log one of the listed services for the vehicle by clicking the Log Service button. (See Logging a Service for details.)

  5. Click Close if you don't want to log a service at this time.

  6. To export the grid data to PDF or Excel, click the or  button at the top right of the screen.
