If a parent in your school district needs to have the password for their Here Comes the Bus (HCTB) account reset, you can do that for them on the HCTB Accounts screen, as follows:
Note: To view the basic details of a parent's HCTB account, you can open the Account Details dialog box. (See Viewing the Details of a HCTB Account.) For steps on using the HCTB Proxy, go to Using the HCTB Proxy. To see what the other options at the top right of the HCTB Accounts screen do, go to Navigating the HCTB Accounts Screen.
- Click >> Accounts.
The HCTB Accounts screen will appear.
- Locate the row of the parent's account.
Note: You can do so quickly by clicking the Filters drop-down arrow at the top left, entering part of the student's name in the Student Name(s) field, and clicking Apply. (See Navigating the HCTB Accounts Screen if needed.) - Click the check box at the far left of the row.
- Click at the top right of the screen.
A confirmation dialog box will appear.
- Click Reset Password.
The account holder will be sent an email with a new password, which they can use to log in. After that, they can change their password to a more user-friendly one.
