The Route Sets screen is part of the Comparative Analysis (CA) module, even though it is on the Preferences menu. A route set contains all the route data from the CA import within the date range specified. The Planned vs. Actual by Stop page shows only the associated routes for the current route set's date range (unless you select to show historical route sets as well).

Note: It's imperative that you have route sets in place with the current date range; otherwise, CA will not work at all. If you are having an issue with CA of your routes not appearing, it may be because you haven't created a new route set for the current date range.

This article describes the various features of the Route Sets screen, which you access by clicking  >> Route Sets.

Note: For information about the banner at the top and accordion menu on the left, see Navigating the Synovia Site.

These are the options along the top right of the screen:

  • : Begins the process of adding a new route set. (See Adding a New Route Set for details.)
Note: You must make sure to create a new route set if you make significant changes to your current routes, such as adding or deleting routes. First edit your current route set to make its end date sooner (such as the end of the week) and then create the new route set with a start date of the following day.
  • : Refreshes the data on the screen (which can be especially useful if other users are making changes).

  • : Deletes the selected route set.
WARNING: DO NOT DELETE any route sets. You'll need your past route sets to see any historical data. The Delete option exists only for cases in which you've mistakenly created a new route set. If that's the case, see Deleting a Route Set for details.
  • : Saves the grid data as a PDF you can print.

  • : Exports the grid data to an Excel spreadsheet.

Here is an explanation of the grid icon and column headers:

  • : Opens the Edit Route Set screen, on which you can change the route set's name, its start date, and end date. (See Editing a Route Set for details.)

  • Name: The name of the route set. Typically, this contains the calendar year, such as 2018-2019, and the part of the school year being covered — for example, 2018-2019 School.

  • Start Date: The first day of this route set's date range (when its data begins).

  • End Date: The last day of this route set's date range (when its data ends).

  • Last Modified By: The user who last made a change to the route set's name or dates.

  • Last Modified Date: The date and time of that last change.

Along the bottom of the screen are icons that enable you to navigate through the pages of data, if needed. See Paging Options for an explanation of these.
