If there is a Here Comes the Bus (HCTB) activity category you know won't be used in the future (or if one was added by mistake), you can delete it as follows:

Note: For more details about Here Comes the Bus activities, see the articles in the folder HCTB Activities.

For information about activity categories, go to Navigating the HCTB Activity Categories Screen.

  1. Click  >> Activity Categories.

The HCTB Activity Categories screen will appear.

  2. Click the check box in the row of the activity category you want to delete.
Note: If the check box is grayed out, the category has at least one activity assigned to it or is a parent category, so you won't be able to delete it. You may decide at this point to keep the activity category, but if you feel that you still do want to remove it, you'll need to reassign the activities to another category (either in bulk on the Edit Activity Category screen of their new category [see Editing a HCTB Activity Category] or individually on each activity's Edit screen [see Editing a HCTB Activity]). If you add an activity that was previously assigned to a different category to a new category via its Edit Activity Category screen, Synovia will remove the assignment from the original category.

To be able to delete a parent, you'll need to move all its subcategories to another main category or delete them first.
  3. Click  at the top right of the screen.

A warning dialog box will appear.

  4. Click Yes.

A Category Deleted message will appear at the top right, and the activity category will be removed from the Activity Categories screen.
