There are multiple ways Time and Attendance (TAA) customers can have their employees clock in and out so that their time will be recorded by the software, including using the mobile data terminals (MDTs) in the vehicles, the Synovia app, and the TAA Portal. The TAA Portal is a website (https://portal.synovia.com) where employees can obtain their time card data, approve their time cards, and request time off, in addition to clocking in and out, depending on which options your TAA administrator has turned on.

If needed, you can change the password an employee uses to clock in and out (using any of the three previously mentioned options) on the Employee Edit screen as follows:

Note: For information about TAA, go to An Introduction to Time and Attendance. For details about the TAA user interface, see Navigating the Time and Attendance Module.

  1. Click  >> Employees.

Your first employee record will appear, alphabetically by last name.

  2. Select the employee's name at the top left of the screen, type part of the name of the worker whose clock-in/clock-out password you need to change, and click the name in the short list that appears.
Note: Alternatively, you can click the drop-down arrow to the right of the employee's name at the top left of the screen, scroll through the list, and select the name you want.
  3. In the General section, click Change Password.

The Change Password dialog box will appear.

This is how it will appear for most users:

This is how it will appear for a linked user:

Note: Linked users clock in and out via TAA and also use the Synovia software. For them, this procedure will change only their clock-in/clock-out password; to change their Synovia password, you'll need to go to their user profile via System Administration >> Users. (See Resetting a User's Password for details.)
  4. To reset the employee's clock-in password to their employee ID, select Same As Employee ID ( means selected, and  deselected) and skip to step 7.

  5. To set a different password, type the new password in the New Password field.

  6. Type the same password in the Repeat New Password field.

  7. Click Change Password.

A success message will appear at the top right, saying the password has been updated.
