If you have scheduled a service and would like to use the same one for another vehicle type, you can duplicate it instead of re-creating it.

Note: For details on how to schedule a new service, see Adding a Scheduled Service.

To duplicate a previously created service for a second vehicle type, follow these steps:

  1. Click  >> Service Schedule.

The Service Schedule screen will appear.

  2. Expand the vehicle type containing the previously created service schedule by clicking  in its row.

  3. Select the scheduled service you want to duplicate.

  4. Click  at the top right of the screen.

The Select Vehicle Type dialog box will appear.

  5. Click the Vehicle Type drop-down arrow and select the other type of vehicle you'd like to copy this service for.

  6. Click Finish.

An Items Saved message will appear at the top right, and the service schedule will appear under the new vehicle type.

  7. If you need to tweak the schedule, such as use different service intervals for the Mileage, Engine Hours, or Days fields, change the cost estimate, or the alert threshold, select the current values and type new ones.
Note: See Adding a Scheduled Service for details.
  8. Click  at the top right.
Warning: The copied service schedule won't do anything at this point; it just exists. For it to be applied to the vehicles of the new type, you must sync it (as described in the next step). Syncing will reset the service interval for all vehicles of the selected type. For example, if you set an interval of 90 days, the Sync button pushes today's date out as day 1.

PRO TIP: In lieu of syncing the service schedule, if you have logs of when the maintenance was previously performed, you can import the data into the Synovia database, which will calculate when the services are next due for your vehicles based on those dates (and use them for your Vehicle Maintenance alerts). For details, see Importing Service Records.
  9. To apply the duplicated schedule to your vehicles (starting the service interval count at today), sync it as follows:

    1. Click the service type name under the new vehicle type (if it's not already selected).

    2. Click  at the top right of the screen.

A success message will appear, stating how many vehicles were synced to the service schedule.
