Calendar Exceptions is part of the Comparative Analysis (CA) module; it enables you to schedule partial or full days your fleet will not be operating. This feature adjusts the planned data to accommodate early dismissals, late arrivals, and days off. It prevents the CA module from expecting a planned arrival when your buses are not in operation, shifts the arrival time when delays occur, and keeps your Planned vs. Actual data up-to-date.

Note: For more information about Comparative Analysis, see An Introduction to Comparative Analysis.

In addition, calendar exception notifications are sent to Here Comes the Bus account holders, so if you have that add-on module, your parents will be informed when the buses won't be running due to an exception.

This article describes the various features of the Calendar Exceptions screen, which you access by clicking  >> Calendar Exceptions.

Note: For information about the banner at the top and accordion menu on the left, see Navigating the CalAmp K-12 Site.

These are the options at the top right of the screen:

  • : Begins the process of adding a new calendar exception. (See Adding a Calendar Exception for details.)

  • : Refreshes the data on the screen (which can be especially useful if other users are making changes).

  • : Deletes the selected calendar exception(s). (See Deleting a Calendar Exception for details.)
Warning: Do NOT delete an exception in the past that occurred exactly as written. You will need to keep the exception in CalAmp K-12 in order for your Planned vs. Actual and other historical data to remain accurate.
  • : Saves the grid data as a PDF you can print.

  • : Exports the grid data to an Excel spreadsheet.

Here is an explanation of the grid icon and column headers:

  • : Opens the Edit screen, on which you can modify the exception's settings. (See Editing a Calendar Exception for details.)
Warning: Do NOT change an exception in the past that happened as planned. If you do, you will compromise your CalAmp K-12 historical data.
  • Reason: A full description of why the calendar exception is occurring, such as "Heavy Snow Forecast - Afternoon."

  • Date: The date of the exception.

  • Type: The kind of calendar exception, such as Early Dismissal.

  • Last Modified By: The user who last made a change to the exception (including creating it).

  • Last Modified Date: The date and time of that last change.

Along the bottom of the screen are icons that enable you to navigate through the pages of data, if needed. See Paging Options for an explanation of these.
