If you have an upcoming calendar exception that has been canceled, you should delete it from the Synovia database so that your arrival and dismissal data isn't compromised — for example, if a snow day was canceled and the students ended up attending school the normal hours that day.

You can delete a past exception if — and ONLY IF — the exception didn't occur at all. (Your vehicles operated on their normal schedule — not as the exception said they would.) And of course, you can delete any exceptions that were created in error.

Warning: Do NOT delete an exception in the past that occurred exactly as written. You will need to keep the exception in Synovia in order for your Planned vs. Actual and other historical data to remain accurate.

You'll want to delete an upcoming canceled calendar exception in Synovia as soon as you know that it won't happen so that the live Comparative Analysis tools (the School Monitor, Route Monitor, and Yard Monitor) will have accurate arrival and dismissal times (that is, the standard schedule).

Note: For more information about Comparative Analysis, see An Introduction to Comparative Analysis. For details about the Calendar Exceptions screen, see Navigating the Calendar Exceptions Screen.
