The Vehicle Types screen comes prepopulated with the four most common kinds of vehicles Synovia's customers use (cars, trucks, buses, and vans) and enables you to set their properties, including idling time (by season), pre- and post-trip requirements, and miles per gallon values.

This article describes the various features of the Vehicle Types screen, which you access by clicking  >> Vehicle Types.

Note: For information about the banner at the top and accordion menu on the left, see Navigating the Synovia Site.

These are the options along the top right of the screen:

  • : Begins the process of adding a new kind of vehicle for your fleet. (See Adding a Vehicle Type for details.)

  • : Refreshes the data on the screen (which can be especially useful if other users are making changes).

  • : Deletes a vehicle type. (See Deleting a Vehicle Type for details.)
Note: You can't delete a vehicle type that has vehicles designated as that type in your fleet.
  • : Saves the grid data as a PDF you can print.

  • : Exports the grid data to an Excel spreadsheet.

Here is an explanation of the grid icon and column headers:

  • : Opens the Edit screen, on which you can modify the vehicle type's properties. (See Changing a Vehicle Type's Properties for details.)

  • Name: The kind of vehicle.

  • Quantity: The number of vehicles your organization has of that vehicle type.

  • Last Modified By: The user who last made a change to the vehicle type, such as updating its properties, changing its stop events, or specifying new pre- or post-trip duties.

  • Last Modified Date: The date and time of that last change.

Along the bottom of the screen are icons that enable you to navigate through the pages of data, if needed. See Paging Options for an explanation of these.
