This article describes the various features of the Zone Speed Rules screen, which you access by clicking  >> Zone Speed Rules.

Note: For information about the banner at the top and accordion menu on the left, see Navigating the Synovia Site.

Zone speed rules are special speeding rules you can create for designated locations in your area, such as a transportation complex in which drivers are not supposed to exceed 10 mph. After you've created a zone speed rule for a location, if a driver exceeds your specified speed limit there, the Zone Speeding event will be triggered in Synovia, which you can view on the Vehicle History screen, set up an alert for, or check using the Speeding report.

These are the options along the top right of the screen:

  • : Begins the process of adding a new zone speed rule for your organization. (See Creating a Zone Speed Rule for details.)

  • : Refreshes the data on the screen (which can be especially useful if other users are making changes).

  • : Removes the selected rule from the system. (See Deleting a Zone Speed Rule for details.)

  • : Saves the data as a PDF you can print.

  • : Exports the grid data to an Excel spreadsheet.

Here is an explanation of the grid icon and column headers:

  • : Opens the Edit screen, on which you can modify the rule's properties, including adding or removing applicable locations. (See Editing a Zone Speed Rule for details.)

  • Name: The name of the rule.

  • Speed: The miles per hour (or kilometers per hour, if that's your base speed unit) value that shouldn't be exceeded, per the rule.

  • Zones: The number of zones to which the rule applies.

  • Last Modified By: The user who last made a change to the rule's properties.

  • Last Modified Date: The date and time of that last change.

Along the bottom of the screen are icons that enable you to navigate through the pages of data, if needed. See Paging Options for an explanation of these.
