This article describes the various features of the Zone Categories screen, which you access by clicking  >> Zone Categories.

Note: For information about the banner at the top and accordion menu on the left, see Navigating the Synovia Site.

Zone categories enable you to group your zones into categories so that you can view just certain ones on the map. For example, if you want to see on the map just all the schools in your district, you can select to view the All Schools zone category. Or a construction company could create a Job Sites category to see just the job sites where they currently have crews working.

These are the options along the top right of the screen:

  • : Begins the process of adding a new zone category for your organization. (See Creating a Zone Category for details.)

  • : Refreshes the data on the screen (which can be especially useful if other users are making changes).

  • : Removes the selected zone category from the system. (See Deleting a Zone Category for details.)

  • : Saves the data as a PDF you can print.

  • : Exports the grid data to an Excel spreadsheet.

Here is an explanation of the grid icons and column headers:

  • : Opens the Edit screen, on which you can change the zone category's name and map color. (See Editing a Zone Category's Properties for details.)

  • : Opens the Assign Users for Category screen, on which you can add users who are allowed to see the zones in that category. (See Assigning Users to a Zone Category for details.)

  • : Opens the Assign Zones for Category screen, on which you can add the zones that belong to the category. (See Assigning Zones to a Zone Category for details.)

  • Name: The name of the zone category.

  • Zones: The number of zones assigned to the category.

  • Users: The number of users assigned to the category.

  • Last Modified By: The user who last made a change to the category's properties.

  • Last Modified Date: The date and time of that last change.

Along the bottom of the screen are icons that enable you to navigate through the pages of data, if needed. See Paging Options for an explanation of these.
