Zone categories are a way to organize the locations in your organization, to group them by type, such as all your job sites or all your schools. You can use categories to view just one type of location on the map, such as all your yards, and they enable you to limit the users who can see the locations. Only users who are assigned to a zone category can see the zones in it.


To create a new zone category for your organization, follow these steps:


  1. Click  >> Zone Categories.
     
  2. Click  at the top right of the Zone Categories screen.
     
    The Add New Zone Category screen will appear.
        
  3. Type a name for the zone category in the Name box, such as All Job Sites.
     
  4. Click the Zone Color drop-down arrow and select the color you'd like zones in the category to appear on the map.
     
  5. Click  at the top right of the screen.
     
  6. Assign zones and users to the zone category. See Assigning Zones to a Zone Category and Assigning Users to a Zone Category.
    Note: If you don't assign users to the zone category, no one in your organization will be able to see the zones assigned to it, except for you. (The user who creates a category is assigned to it automatically.)
