To run one of CalAmp K-12's most popular reports, in your organization or across all our customers, follow these steps:

Note: For details on the features of the Reports screen, go to Navigating the Reports Screen.

Be aware that your user role will need to have Can View privileges for each report you want to run. (If you need to be able to run a report you don't have privileges for, contact your organization's CalAmp K-12 administrator.)

  1. Click  >> Reports.

The Reports screen will appear and list the available reports by category on the left. By default, My Recent Reports will be selected.

  2. In the Report Categories list, under Popular Reports, click either Popular Account Reports (for the most commonly run reports in your organization) or Popular Synovia Reports (for the most commonly run reports by all of CalAmp K-12's customers).

The top 10 reports of that category, sorted by count order (highest to lowest), will appear on the right.

  3. On the right, click the name of the report you want to run, such as the second report in the preceding figure, Route Daily Details by Vehicle.

    The report options will appear.

  4. If the report requires vehicles to be chosen, you can use the Group/Vehicle Hierarchy tree to select either a vehicle group (or groups) or certain vehicles by expanding their group name and checking those you want.
Note: Alternatively, you can search for an individual vehicle by clicking the Search tab, entering part of the vehicle name, and then selecting it from the drop-down list. You can dismiss selected vehicles by clicking .

Vehicle search results will show the primary group they're assigned to to the right of their name in brackets. If you're searching for a tier, the route it's part of will be in the brackets (or for a route, the itinerary name).

Note: If you don't specify any groups or vehicles, all the vehicles in your fleet will be included in the report.
  5. If the report requires events to be chosen, you can select specific ones by clicking their check boxes.
Note: You also have the option to search for events using a Search tab, which works like the vehicle search.

Note: If you don't specify any events, all CalAmp K-12 events will be included in the report.
  6. To use a common date range, click the Quick Range drop-down arrow and select the time period, such as Last Week.

To use a specific date range, click the From date and time pickers and select the beginning of the time period for which you want to run the report; then click the To pickers and select the ending of the time period.
Note: For some reports (such as Route Daily Details by Vehicle), you can specify a time span (one time segment of the day) instead of just a date range. You do so as follows:

    1. Click the Timespan tab.

    2. Click the Common Range drop-down arrow and select the time-of-day range (such as Morning, which will give you only report results that occurred from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.).

You also can specify times of your choosing using the Start and End time pickers.

    3. Choose one of these radio buttons:

      • Quick Range: You choose a common date range from the Quick Range drop-down list (such as Last Week).

      • Calculated: You can specify a number of days for the report results (such as the last 15 days).

      • Custom: You select the exact dates of results you want for the time range using the calendar pickers.

  7. Enter any other necessary parameters for the report — for example, for the Route Daily Details by Vehicle report, you can add Over and Under Speed values (in the number of mph) to include in the results .

  8. Click  at the top right of the screen.

    The report results will appear.
Note: If it's a long-running report (one with numerous rows of results), a message will tell you as much at the top right of the screen. Also, a Refresh button will appear so that you can try to load the results.

You can check Report History later to see if the report is done. ("In progress" will have changed to "Complete.") (See Viewing Your Report History for details.)

By default, the report parameters will be hidden. You can click Report Parameters above the results to display them.
Note: If the report has any child reports, clickable links will appear in blue. Clicking the link will open the child report's results.
Below the grid are icons that enable you to navigate through the pages of data. See Paging Options for an explanation of these.

These are the options at the top right:

    • : To run the report again using the same parameters.

    • : To save the report results for later viewing, for yourself and optionally other users. (See Saving a Report.)

    • : To schedule the report. (See Scheduling a Report.) If you schedule a report you just ran, the report parameters such as chosen vehicles will be carried over.
Note: Be aware that  won't be displayed if you entered specific dates (such as 2/27 to 2/28) because you can only schedule reports that use a common date range (such as Last Week). (Otherwise, the report would always return the same days' information.)
    • : To change the report's layout. (See Customizing a Report's Layout.)

    • : To save the data as a PDF you can print.

    • : To export the grid data to an Excel spreadsheet.

  9. If you are done with the report, click  at the top right.

The report will appear on the Report History screen and in your list of My Recent Reports.
