If one of the canned messages that comes prepackaged with Synovia is just a little different from how you need it to read, or if you would like it to be placed in another spot in the Quick Text list on the drivers' MDTs (mobile data terminals), you can edit it. The message will be updated on all your organization's MDTs after the drivers perform their next sync.

To edit a canned message, follow these steps:


  1. Click  >> Canned Messages.

    The Canned Messages screen will appear.
     
      
  2. Click  in the row of the canned message you want to modify.
     
    The Edit Canned Message screen will appear.
       
  3. If you need to change the message text, select it in the Message box and type the new text.
     
  4. If you need to change its placement in the list on the MDT, select the current value in the Order field and type the new one.
    Note: The order values determine in what sequence the messages will appear on the MDT's Quick Text screen (the MDT screen that displays the canned messages). For example, if you want the message to appear fourth on the MDT list, type 4.
     
    If two messages have the same order value (such as two 4s), alphabetical order will determine their spot on the MDT's Quick Text screen (for just those two canned messages).
  5. Click  at the top right of the screen.
     
    Your changes will be saved, you will be returned to the Canned Messages screen, and your updates will appear in the list.
