The Comparative Analysis (CA) module uses data imported from your route planning system to compare the activity that was scheduled for your vehicles with their actual activity, as reported to Synovia. A Synovia implementation analyst will set up a full snapshot import to be run daily. A snapshot is one day's worth of fleet activity, as planned by your routing system. The only import you should run yourself is a partial snapshot import, which pulls in only your route data (not your student data as well).

Note: For more information about CA, see An Introduction to Comparative Analysis. For more information about the Import Results screen, see Navigating the Import Results Screen.

You'll need to perform a partial snapshot import if you add new routes to your fleet's driving schedule (or new vehicles, if you use vehicle-to-vehicle mapping) to pull their planning data into Synovia — and then map the new itineraries (or vehicles), as shown in Mapping. To run a partial import, follow these steps:

  1. Click  >> Import Results.

The Import Results screen will appear.

  2. Click  at the top right of the screen.

The RIC Operations screen will appear.

Warning: Do NOT attempt any other RIC (route import controller) operations other than a partial import! The other controls on this screen are just for internal Synovia use. Attempting to use other functions on the RIC Operations screen could break Comparative Analysis for your organization and stop your imports from running completely!
  3. Click the Initiate RIC Request drop-down arrow and select Partial Snapshot Import.

  4. Click Initiate.

  5. Click  at the top right of the screen to return to the Import Results screen.

  6. Click  at the top right to refresh the screen, if needed.

Your partial import will show a status of In Progress until it's finished running. After completion, the status will read "Success" or "Failure."
Note: If the import of the routing data is unsuccessful, contact your fleet advisor, your project manager, or Synovia Support at support@synoviasolutions.com.
