With the Broadcast Message feature, you can send a message to all the Synovia users in your organization; in particular, you can use it to send time-specific messages that will expire after a preset date and time, such as a warning about a planned outage for system maintenance.

The broadcast message will appear to each user just after they log in, as long as they log in before the expiration date you've set. It won't appear to them more than once, unless you choose the Show Always option.

Note: For more information about broadcast messages, see Navigating the Broadcast Message Screen.

To create and send a message, follow these steps:

Note: You must have administrator privileges to send a broadcast message.

  1. Click  >> Broadcast Message.

The Broadcast Message screen will appear.

  2. Click  at the top right of the screen.

The Add New Message screen will appear.

  3. Type the subject of the message in the Subject box.

  4. Type the message text in the Message box.

  5. In the Expiration Date field, set the date the broadcast message will expire, either by selecting the date and time and typing new values or by using the date and time pickers.
Note: If a user doesn't log in to Synovia between the time you send the message and the date it expires, they won't see the message.
  6. If you want the message to appear to each user every time they log in to Synovia (up until the point when the message expires), not just once, select Show Always. ( means selected, and  deselected.)

  7. Click  at the top right of the screen.

Your message will appear in the Broadcast Message list, and as users log in, they will see it. It will look similar to the one in the following figure.
