The Performance Categories screen has sliding scales of time expectations for various segments of a vehicle's or group's scheduled trip. (For more details, go to Navigating the Performance Categories Screen.)

To adjust a scale, follow these steps:

  1. Click  >> Performance Categories.

The Performance Categories screen will appear.

  2. Click  in the row of the performance category you want to adjust.

The Edit Performance Category screen will appear, with the Entry tab selected.

The Entry tab displays the scales for the start time of the segment of the route you chose; for example, for a school, the 0 part of the scale for School Bell Arrival signifies the school bell arrival time, the official start of the school day.

The three different scales delineate at what point in the route segment the vehicle is considered early, on time, or late. Specifically, in the example shown in the preceding figure, the scales are as follows:

    • Early: A designated number of minutes prior to the school start bell. In this example, the Early span is set between 60 and 15 minutes prior to the bell.

    • On-Time: A designated number of minutes prior to and up to the school start bell. In the figure example, the On-Time span is set between 15 minutes prior to the bell and at the actual bell time.

    • Late: A designated number of minutes after the school start bell has rung. In the figure example, the Late span is set between the bell time and 30 minutes after it.

  3. On the line for the time segment you want to change, click the new value you want to use for the end of the range. For example, if you want to change the Early rightmost value to 10 minutes prior to the school bell, click the Early line at the -10 spot. The green line will expand to -10, and the On-Time scale will automatically move its leftmost value to -10 as well.
Note: The numbers in the fields on the left are point values that count against your drivers for those particular events, should you be using the Event Points system. In the example in the preceding figure, if a bus driver arrives at school in the morning within the Late window of time, three points will be counted against them. (See Event Points for more information.)

You can change a point value by selecting the number and typing the new value.
  4. Click the Exit tab, if the category has one.

The Exit tab for School Bell Arrival for a school displays the scales for the scheduled time of day when the students are leaving the school. The 0 part of the scale is the school dismissal bell time.

  5. Again, on the line for the time segment you want to change, click the new value you want to use for the end of the range. For example, if you want to change the On-Time leftmost value to 20 minutes prior to the dismissal bell, click the On-Time line at the -20 spot. The green line will expand to -20, and the Early scale will automatically move its rightmost value to -20 as well.

  6. Click  at the top right of the screen.
