If your fleet's structure changes, you may need to add a group. To do so, follow these steps:
Note: You may also want to add a group to take advantage of CalAmp K-12's capability to add vehicles to more than one group. For example, say your fleet services assisted-living facilities, and each vehicle's primary group is named for the housing complex they are assigned to. You may want to create an additional group that includes only vehicles that are both wheelchair accessible and air conditioned.
- Click
>> Groups.
The Groups screen will appear.
- Click
at the top right of the screen.
The Add New Group screen will appear.
- Type the name of the vehicle group in the Name field.
- If your vehicles are organized in a hierarchical system, and this is a child group (one that fits under a larger, parent group in your fleet structure), click the Parent Group drop-down arrow and select the group this is a subgroup of.
- If you have spare vehicles in the group, click the Spare drop-down arrow and select Yes.
- Usually, you can leave the Use in Average Speed and District Served fields set to their defaults.
Note: Use in Average Speed enables compiling of various legs of a route, and District Served applies only to consortium customers. If your organization is part of a consortium, click the District Served drop-down arrow and select the district for the group. (The vehicles in this group will serve that district.) - Click
at the top right of the screen.
You'll be returned to the Groups screen, and your new group will appear in the grid.
- Add vehicles to the group, as shown in Adding Vehicles to a Group.
- Add users to the group, as shown in Adding Users to a Group.
- If your drivers use the CalAmp K-12 mobile app and your school district limits bus visibility in the app, you can add departments to the group as well; see Assigning Departments to Vehicle Groups.
