You can view your vehicles' activity on the CalAmp K-12 map at the current time, in real time, by using the Watch Live feature. You can watch a single vehicle, multiple vehicles you select, or all the vehicles in a group. There are multiple ways of watching vehicles live:

  • Track the vehicle normally: By default, when you track a vehicle (or driver) using Core >> Fleet Tracking, CalAmp K-12 starts watching the vehicle live automatically. For details, see Tracking a Vehicle, Tracking an Entire Group of Vehicles, or Tracking Drivers.

  • Use Start Watching: If you have tracked a vehicle and previously selected to exit Watch Live mode, you can click  on the map toolbar to begin watching the vehicle in real time again.

  • Use a right-click option: From any map screen, right-click the vehicle name in the results grid beneath the map and select Watch Live (or Watch Live on New Tab) from the menu.

All the GPS events will begin appearing in the grid beneath the map as they occur, and the  button will appear over the map. (Watch Live on New Tab will open a new tab and begin displaying the vehicle's activity on it.)
Note: If the vehicle's ignition is on, its GPS device will report to CalAmp whenever a new GPS event occurs and whenever the vehicle turns, and the latest position and event will appear on your screen. Previously, the devices reported every 30 seconds, but now this is more frequent. The longer you watch the vehicle (or group) live, the more data will appear in the grid, and your map view will be automatically refreshed, showing each new event.
When you are done watching the vehicle(s), click .
Caution: Remember to click  when you're finished because continuing to watch live can take up a lot of memory on your computer.
