CalAmp K-12 (https://login.synovia.com)
- In the Idle reports, changed the Idle Threshold parameter to be able to accept minute values that are lower than 5.
Note: This is dependent on the device configuration. If the LMU script has a threshold of 5 and you enter 3 in the report parameters, no data will be returned. To have your LMU script updated, in CalAmp K-12, click
>> Open a Case and follow the onscreen instructions. (See Opening a Case for Customer Support if needed.) - Changed the back-end procedure for sending alerts as text messages, which hasn’t been functioning due to cell carriers sunsetting support of SMS to email. This entails disabling SMS alerts and then reenabling them, which is planned for March 17.
- Fixed a bug on the Edit Location screen that was showing the wrong error text when users tried to save after renaming the location with a previously existing name. (The error called it a “road geofence” instead.)
Comparative Analysis
- Fixed an issue with the School Monitor that wasn’t keeping a chosen zoom level. (Users would zoom in on buses, but the screen would zoom back out when the page refreshed.)
Here Comes the Bus
- Fixed an issue with creating a new account that wasn’t recognizing Canadian zip codes (which include letters and spaces) in the Enter Your Zip Code . . . to Get Your School District Code field.
Student Ridership
- For customers using new PvA, fixed an issue that was showing inconsistent values for the number of students on board between the Fleet Tracking screen and the Ridership Monitor.
Time and Attendance
- Fixed an issue with adding an absence using the Hourly time frame if it was added for multiple days. (The leave hours were showing only on the first day, not on subsequent ones.)
Mobile Data Terminals (Bus Guardian Version 2026.02)
- Improved the Students list to better show the driver which students are on the bus, as follows:
- "Onboard" will be displayed in the rows of students who have scanned on the bus.
- "Not boarded" will appear in the rows of students who haven’t scanned on yet.
- A student's row will be automatically updated from Not Boarded to Onboard when they scan on.
- Updated the labels for the Mark Critical Inspection Failures feature (which gives drivers three cycled choices for Pass/Fail items) to Pass; Defect (formerly Fail - Non Critical); and Major Defect (previously Fail - Critical).
- On the Completed Inspections page, added the time the inspection was performed (in addition to the date).
- Changed how the Rider Lookup feature works. Previously, when a student scanned on the wrong bus but was in the system, the Rider Lookup button would be displayed, which the driver had to tap to have the database search for them. Now, that search will be performed automatically (with no need for the button).
- For Navigation customers, added the clock to the top of the turn-by-turn directions screens.
- Fixed a bug that would crash the app when the driver tapped the Back button.
- Fixed an issue that wasn’t applying an enabled Force Selection of Pass/Fail Inspection Items feature (which requires drivers to expressly select Pass or Fail) for customers with the Mark Critical Inspection Failures setting turned on.
- Fixed an issue that wasn’t applying an enabled Force Notes feature (which requires drivers to add a note for failed items — and automatically opens the screen to do so when Fail is tapped) for customers with the Force Selection of Pass/Fail Inspection Items setting turned on.
- For Navigation customers, fixed an issue that was opening the next stop when the bus was still at the current stop.
- Fixed an issue that would cause the application to crash if the driver data couldn’t be found in the database when they were being authenticated.
