Note: Beginning with version 2024.25, you will receive a broadcast message when you first log in to the CalAmp K-12 website after each release that will inform you of its key features and provide a link to the release notes in the K-12 Knowledge Base (such as this article).

At first, you will receive both the email notification and that in-software message. In the future, CalAmp will sunset the email, and your only release notes notice will be the broadcast message.

CalAmp K-12 (https://login.synovia.com)

  • For customers using CalAmp Vision, added a Video Requests screen (found on the Vision menu), with these features:
    • A Request Video button in the top-right toolbar, which will launch a dialog box in which you can request a video capture from a bus for a specific date and time.
    • A grid listing any previously made video requests. By default, requests from the past month will be displayed, but users can select a larger date range with the From and To calendar pickers. Videos that can be played will have a status of Video Ready.
  • On the Hardware screen, removed the check box column and made the RMA Selected button permanently enabled (so that users always can get the guidance added in release 2024.24 on how to access the hardware troubleshooting KB articles and contact our Global Technical Support team).
  • In the export of the Vehicle History screen, removed the Date Stored and Deviation column values (leaving them blank) for Zone Entry and Zone Exit events.
  • On the Vehicles screen, fixed an issue that was causing the unretire vehicle function to take a long time to process.

CalAmp K-12 Mobile App (Version 4.4.3)

  • Redesigned how substitutions work to provide a more user-friendly experience.
  • Added a Groups filter to the Work Orders screen that will show work orders only for buses in the selected groups.
  • For Vehicle mode, added highlighting to the “Student Not Riding Today” text for students who submitted a Cancel a Ride request.
  • Fixed a bug that was displaying buses with a latitude/longitude value of zero on the map. (This indicates that they don’t have a reliable GPS signal, so they shouldn’t be displayed at all.)

Inspections

  • For customers who have the Allow Inspection Results Editing setting turned on, on the Inspection Results Details screen, removed the red asterisks that appeared next to the Notes fields after a user clicked the Edit button on the top-right toolbar, as entering a note is not required.
  • For customers who have the Allow Inspection Results Editing setting turned on, on the Inspection Results Details screen, fixed a bug that wasn’t saving an edited note unless the user tried a second save attempt.

Here Comes the Bus App Version 3.6.1

  • For customers using the Cancel a Ride feature, fixed an issue that wasn’t allowing account holders to cancel a ride on the last and first days of the current route set.

In addition, added an error message to tell them if they are attempting to add a request for a date outside of the current school session.
  • Fixed a bug that was directing users (who weren’t logged in to the app) to an error screen when they clicked a notification instead of to the login screen.
  • For students who use Bus Pass in the HCTB app to scan on the bus, fixed a user interface issue that would display the bar code too large (so that it expanded past the edge of the mobile device’s screen).

Time and Attendance

  • Made the following changes to the password-reset requirements for new employees:
    • On the Portal/MDT Settings screen, added a Password Reset Required on First Login toggle, which by default will be on. This will require all employees logging in for the first time to change their passwords. (This has been the default behavior previously; now, however, users have the option of turning off the requirement.)
    • Added a Password Reset Required on First Login toggle to the Change Password dialog box of the Employees screen, which, when selected, will require the new employee to change their password even if the overall customer settings have set the preceding new option to no.
  • On the Shift Exceptions screen, added an Include Employee Type toggle to the right of the Include Vehicle option (under Settings in the right pane), which, when selected, will add an Employee Type column to the grid.
  • Moved the Start Date and End Date fields to the top right of the Shift Exceptions screen. This will fix the issue some users were having with using these at their default laptop resolution.
  • Made processing changes that will improve the performance of the Hours Summary by Route ID report (so that the results will load much more quickly).

Engine Diagnostics

  • In CalAmp K-12 on the J1708/1939 - Heavy Duty screen, added  to the right of values in the Active Fault Codes column, which, when clicked, will display a Fault Code Details window that will show the date and time the fault codes started, their codes and descriptions, and lamp status.
