CalAmp K-12 (https://login.synovia.com)

  • Improved the Add/Edit Broadcast Message screen as follows:
    • Removed the length limit, so messages can now include as much text as needed.
    • Added support for basic markdown tags in the messages (plus security measures to prevent scripts from being posted by users).
    • Increased the size of the Subject and Message fields.
    • Added a preview of the message.
    • Set the default time of the expiration date to the end of the current day (instead of the previous value of the user’s current time of day).
  • For customers using CalAmp Vision, changed the name of the Vision Library screen to “Video Events.”
  • For customers using CalAmp Vision, on the Video Events screen, changed the name of the Video URL column to “Video Actions.” The column will now display a Play icon instead of a video URL.
  • On the Edit/Add New Vehicle screen, moved all the required fields to the top of their respective sections. In addition, moved the VIN field to the right of the Name field.
  • For customers using CalAmp Vision, on the Vehicle History screen, fixed a bug that would show regular events (as well as video-captured ones) when the user selected the Display Vision Video Only toggle.
  • Fixed an issue that was still sending Vision alerts after the Vision license was turned off.
  • On the Fleet Tracking screen, fixed an issue with the Settings dialog box that was displaying the Route option under Labels for customers without Comparative Analysis.
  • Fixed an issue that was displaying broadcast messages in the middle of the text (partially scrolled down) instead of from the top.
  • For consortiums, fixed an issue that was displaying a message count on the Mail icon for customers who didn’t have rights to the Mail screen.

Inspections

  • For customers who have the Allow Inspection Results Editing setting turned on, on the Inspection Results Details screen, added the ability to change the comments in the Notes column (which can be enabled by clicking the Edit button on the top-right toolbar).

Here Comes the Bus

  • For customers using the Cancel a Ride feature, on the CalAmp K-12 HCTB Accounts screen, made user interface changes to the dialog box that appears when a school/transportation department user cancels an active transportation request, placing the student name on its own line within the “Are you sure . . .” prompt and centering the text.
  • For customers using Here Comes the Bus Activities, fixed an issue that was displaying the last modified date of an activity in UTC. The last modified date is now displayed in the user’s local time zone.

Comparative Analysis

  • Fixed an issue with exporting the Planned vs. Actual by Stop screen that would show the next day’s date in the Time columns (if the user attempted the export late in the evening).

Dispatch Monitor

Note: The Dispatch Monitor is an add-on service with an additional monthly fee. It requires both the Comparative Analysis and Time and Attendance modules, plus new PvA.

  • Updated the warning that appears in the Quick Edit window if the user selects a different bus in the Vehicle drop-down list (that informs the user that a substitution will be created) to include the names of the affected tiers.

Time and Attendance

  • Fixed an issue that was preventing absences from being saved (instead producing the error “Unable to create/update absence because employee type was changed on the dates selected”).

JSON API

  • Fixed an issue that was causing the event/VehicleHistory method to hang and not return data (ever since the new input parameters processedStartDateUTC, processedEndDateUTC, startEventHistoryId, and endEventHistoryId were added in release 2024.12).
