You can change certain CalAmp K-12 app settings such as your map preferences, default search for inspections, and the distance at which vehicles are considered nearby (when you are performing an inspection) as follows:

  1. Tap  at the top left of the screen.
Note: If you are on certain screens (such as Vehicle Details), you'll need to tap Back first at the top left.

  2. Tap My Settings on the menu that appears.

The My Settings screen will appear.

  3. To have the map display vehicle names with the event icons (when you are viewing more than one vehicle), select Vehicle Labels. ( means selected, and  deselected.)

  4. To group multiple vehicles under a single icon, which will be labeled with the bus count it represents (such as ), select Clustering. ( means selected, and  deselected.)

By default, Auto Refresh Vehicle Position will be selected, which means that the buses' locations on the map are updated automatically every 30 seconds.

  5. You can turn this off (and leave the vehicle location static from the time you launch the Map screen) by deselecting the Auto Refresh Vehicle Position toggle. ( means selected, and  deselected.)

Alternatively, you can leave Auto Refresh Vehicle Position selected and select the Refresh over WiFi Only option to have the automatic reloading occur only if you're connected to WiFi (if your concern is using too much data on your mobile device).

By default, when you perform an inspection, the Select Vehicle for Inspection screen's Search feature looks for matching results based on the name of the vehicle.

  6. To have the Select Vehicle for Inspection search instead look for VINs (vehicle identification numbers), select VIN Number. ( means selected, and  deselected.)

On the Select Vehicle for Inspection screen is an option to show nearby vehicles.

  7. You can change the distance at which a vehicle is returned as close by as follows:

    1. Tap Nearby Vehicles Distance.

      A dialog box will appear.

    2. Tap  to increase the distance at which vehicles will be considered nearby.
Note: You can instead delete the current value and type the new number.
    3. Tap  to decrease the distance.

    4. Tap Save.

Your new distance value will appear in the Nearby Vehicles Distance field.
