CalAmp K-12 Mobile App (Version 4.2.1)

  • Fixed some user interface issues with the Home screen, route selection, and the Messaging module (such as run names not fitting, buttons not being spaced correctly, and button text not being sized for the buttons).

Here Comes the Bus

  • Added the ability for school districts to allow only authorized account holders to add students to their HCTB accounts via a district-provided PIN (personal identification number). This includes several features:
    • A new setting in Preferences >> Settings, HCTB Feature Use Student Pin Number, with a default value of N. If this is set to Y, parents will only be able to add their students to their HCTB accounts using the PIN the school sends them.

This must be enabled first by CalAmp via the HCTB Licenses screen’s new Use Student Pin Number toggle. (Note that this screen is accessible only by CalAmp employees.)

    • Parents will only be able to add a student to their accounts using that student’s unique PIN. (School districts will need to inform parents how to find their students’ PINs.) After the student is added, parents will no longer need their PINs.

    • Future plans include having the system track parent logins (including the IP address), plus a report in CalAmp K-12 that school district users will be able to run to view the parent login history details.

  • Fixed a typo on the Add/Edit Notification Radius screen in the app that was displaying “250 mi” to the left of the radius size slider instead of “250 ft” for account holders using Imperial as their unit of measure.

JSON API

  • Added the method Ridership/Scans, with parameters for the date range, vehicleIds, studentDistrictIds, and cardIds, which will return a list of the student scans over the course of the time period, bus IDs and numbers, district IDs, student names, and boarding card numbers.
