The Rider History screen is part of the Student Ridership module; it enables you to map where and when a student scanned on and off their school bus during a specified period of time.

Note: For more information about Student Ridership, see An Introduction to Student Ridership.

To map a student's scan history, follow these steps:

  1. Click  >> Rider History.

  2. Click the Options drop-down arrow.

  3. Type the student's name (or part of it) in the Find Student field.

Matching names will appear in a drop-down list.

  4. Select the student from the list.

  5. In the Options area (below the dates), select what scan data you want to see:

    • Show Ridership Based on Planned Routing: Shows the student scans that occurred on their assigned bus route, comparing when the student's bus stop was planned to take place (based on data from your planned routing system) and when the student actually scanned on or off the bus. This option will be available only if you have Comparative Analysis.

    • Show All Student Scans on Any Vehicle: Lists all the scan records for the student in the time range, even if the scan was on a bus route the student isn't assigned to.

  6. Above the Options area, select the date range the scan history will display by specifying start and end dates on the By Date tab.
Note: Alternatively, you can specify one segment of the day to see the scans for over a range of days on the By Time Span tab. You do so as follows:

    1. Click the By Time Span tab.

By Time Span tab for Show Ridership Based on Planned Routing
By Time Span tab for Show All Student Scans on Any Vehicle

    2. If you selected Show Ridership Based on Planned Routing in step 5, click the selector for the time of day — morning (AM), midday (MID), or afternoon (PM) — of scan results you want to see. ( means selected, and  deselected.)

If you selected Show All Student Scans on Any Vehicle in step 5, specify the beginning and end times of the time segment (such as 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.) using the Time Range time pickers.

    3. Specify the beginning and end dates for the time period using the Date Range calendar pickers.
  7. Click View History.

The scan history for the time period you selected will appear on the map, and the data for the scans will appear in the grid below the map, listed in chronological order.

If you selected Show Ridership Based on Planned Routing, the results will appear similar to this:

The grid will show only scans the student performed as part of their designated route. On the left, the columns show which route, vehicle, bus stop, and stop time the student is assigned to, and on the right, you'll see the student's actual scan times (in the Scan Time column), the time deviation from the planned pickup/drop-off time versus the actual scan-on/scan-off time, where the scan actually occurred, and the scan type (such as entered by the student or driver).

On the map, the blue icons represent the planned pickup/drop-off locations, and the red icons are where the student actually scanned on or off.

If you selected Show All Student Scans on Any Vehicle, the results will appear similar to this:

The grid will show all the scan events for the student (whether on their assigned route or not). The included data is the bus's primary group, its number, the date and time of the scan, where the scan occurred, the scan source (such as entered by the student or driver), and the bus driver's name.

On the map, the blue icons represent where the student scanned on or off.
