Before you create an inspection form group, one set of items to check, you need to add all the items you plan to place in it (see Creating an Inspection Form Item). (Each individual element to examine within a group is an item.) Combine items logically to form your groups, or categories, of things to inspect. For example, you might have one group named "Exterior" that includes all the evaluation tasks on the outside of a vehicle and another called "Under the Hood" containing all the engine checks. All the groups together compose a template, the overall form.

To add a new group, follow these steps:
- Click
>> Inspection Setup.
The Inspection Setup screen's Templates tab will appear.
- Click the Groups tab.
- Click
at the top right of the screen.
The Add New Group screen will appear.
- Type the title of the group in the Name box.
- In the Available Items grid, select the check boxes to the left of all the items you want to include in the group.
- Click
.
The items will appear in the Items in Group grid.
Note: If you added an item in error, you can select its check box in the Items in Group grid and then click
to remove it.
The items will be displayed in the order they are listed on the Items tab (that is, in the order they were created), and the numbers in the Order column of the Items in Group grid come from there.
- To move an item higher or lower in the list, follow these steps:
- Click its current value in the Order column.
The field will become editable.
- Type the value of the placement you want for the item, such as 1 to place it first in the group.
- Repeat steps a and b for all the items in the group.
- Click its current value in the Order column.
- Click
at the top right of the screen.
You'll be returned to the Groups tab of the Inspection Setup screen, and your new group will appear in the list.
