If you need to find fleet vehicles that are near a specific CalAmp K-12 location, such as if you need to send the nearest available replacement truck to a worksite that has been designated as a landmark, you can follow the steps below. The first section shows how to find the vehicles nearby the location by searching, and the second by using a list of your organization's locations.

Searching near a Location


To find vehicles near a location by searching, follow these steps:


  1. Click  >> Map Nearby.
     
    The Find Location dialog box will load when the Map Nearby screen opens.
     
  2. Click the Search Locations tab.
     
  3. Type the name (or part of the name) of the location you want to search near.

    As you type, possible matching locations will appear in the Search Results area.
     
  4. Click the correct location.
     
  5. Click Map Location.
     
    The Map Nearby screen will display the location on the map.
     
  6. Click the Groups drop-down arrow to expand the Groups panel.
      
  7. Optionally, in the Groups options, you can select the group whose vehicles you want to find by checking the box to the left of the group name.
    Note: If you don't select a group, all vehicles in all your groups will be searched for.
  8. Select from these choices in the Options area:
     
    • Map X Closest Vehicles: You can choose a number of vehicles to locate using the / buttons.
       
    • Find Within Miles: You can choose a certain radius, from 1 to 50 miles, in which to search.
       
    • Only in Map Window: This displays only vehicles within the boundaries of the map.
       
  9. Click Map Nearby.
     
    All nearby fleet vehicles that meet your criteria will be displayed on the map, and their data will appear in the grid beneath the map.
     
    Note: The column headers are the same as those listed in Tracking a Vehicle, with one addition: ETA, which is how long it would take the vehicle to reach the specified location.
  10. You can watch the found vehicles in real time by clicking at the top right of the screen.


Choosing from a List of Locations


  1. Click  >> Map Nearby.
     
    The Find Location dialog box will load when the Map Nearby screen opens.
     
  2. Click the Locations List tab.
     
  3. Click the Locations _BR4j4TMTcUX1THmLzr19vLXT3q-yc1R8g.png to expand the list.
     
  4. Click the School, Landmark, or Yard _BR4j4TMTcUX1THmLzr19vLXT3q-yc1R8g.png, depending on what kind of location you are searching near.
     
    A list of all the locations of that type will appear.
     
  5. Click the location name.
       
  6. Click Map Location.
     
    The Map Nearby screen will display the address of the location on the map.
     
  7. Click the Groups drop-down arrow to expand the Groups panel.
      
  8. Optionally, in the Groups options, you can select the group whose vehicles you want to find by checking the box to the left of the group name.
    Note: If you don't select a group, all vehicles in all your groups will be searched for.
  9. Select from these choices in the Options area:
