Synovia comes with two default seasons: SpringSummerFall and Winter. Certain data in Synovia depends on these seasons, such as the Idling value that sets off the Idle Alert event; often, customers allow vehicles longer to idle in their specified Winter season (so that they can warm up) and use a lower value in a SpringSummerFall season.

You may need to modify when the seasons start and end, depending on how early or late winter comes (if ever) in your area. You could change the season names as well, but you may find it simpler to just leave the default ones.

To edit a season, follow these steps:

  1. Click  >> Seasons.

    The Seasons screen will appear.

  2. Click  in the row of the season you need to change.

The Edit Season screen will appear.

  3. If necessary, you can select the name of the season and type a new name.

  4. To change the week of the calendar year the season will begin, select the number in the Start Week field and type the new one.
Note: For example, if your spring season begins in the 10th week of the year (in March), enter 10 for the SpringSummerFall start week.

Note: Make sure that the start and end weeks won't overlap with another season's. This may mean you have to modify the week values more than once — first to set a placeholder value that won't overlap and later after changing the other season to set the actual value.
  5. To change the week of the calendar year the season will end, select the number in the End Week field and type the new one.

  6. Click  at the top right of the screen.
