You might need to find fleet vehicles that are near a vehicle — for example, if a bus has had an accident and you need a close-by vehicle to go pick up the students on it. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Track the vehicle you want to search near as shown in Tracking a Vehicle.

  2. In the grid beneath the map, right-click the number of the vehicle and select Map Nearby Vehicle from the menu.

The Map Nearby screen will appear on a new tab, and the Groups window will be displayed.

  3. Optionally, you can select the group whose vehicles you want to find by checking the box to the left of the group name.
Note: If you don’t select a group, all vehicles in all your groups will be searched for.
  4. Select from these choices in the Options area:

    • Map X Closest Vehicles: You can choose a number of vehicles to locate using the / buttons.

    • Find Within Miles: You can choose a certain radius, from 1 to 50 miles, in which to search.

    • Only in Map Window: This displays only vehicles within the boundaries of the map.

  5. Click Map Nearby.

All nearby fleet vehicles that meet your criteria will be displayed on the map, and their data will appear in the grid beneath the map.

Note: The column headings are the same as those listed in Tracking a Vehicle, with one addition: ETA, which is how long it would take each vehicle to reach the vehicle in distress.
  6. You can watch the found vehicles in real time by clicking at the top right of the screen.

  7. You can specify a different group (or groups) to search for by clicking Select Groups at the top left and repeating steps 3 to 5.

Note: The Fleet Tracking screen will still be open on the original tab, so you can return to it as needed.
