The Time and Attendance (TAA) module tracks your employees' time, collecting data to help you manage clock-ins, work activities, time cards, absences, overtime, reports, and payroll integration. Our previous version of TAA, what we're now calling legacy TAA (https://taa.synovia.com), is currently still available, but our new version of TAA (referred to below as Synovia TAA), accessible through the Synovia platform itself (https://login.synovia.com) has several advantages over the legacy software, as follows:

The help pages provided in this Knowledge Base will be focused on Synovia TAA; for help with legacy TAA, you can go to Legacy Time and Attendance Help. Be aware, however, that the legacy articles are not necessarily up-to-date (and won't be updated in the future).


  • Browser and form factor compatibility: Legacy TAA was browser limited, as it was designed for Internet Explorer. In other browsers, it could be buggy, and some of its features wouldn't function at all. It also required a computer that ran Internet Explorer. Synovia TAA, on the other hand, is written in HTML5, which means that it can be viewed on almost anything that can access the Internet, whether it be a computer, smartphone, or other mobile device — and in any modern browser.
     
  • Quicker: Synovia TAA's loading and processing time is much faster.
     
  • Easier to use: Synovia Time and Attendance's user interface is more user-friendly and intuitive, which makes performing your TAA tasks much simpler.
     
  • Integrated software: Synovia TAA offers integration with your fleet-management functionality, as it's all in one platform — think of it as the one-stop shopping version of software.
     
  • Personalized report layouts: Using Synovia TAA, you can take advantage of the Synovia platform's custom layout features for reports. (For details, see Customizing a Report's Layout.)
     
  • Favorites: If there is a Time and Attendance screen you use most often, in Synovia TAA, you can add it to the Favorites menu so that you can access it quickly. (For details, see Adding Favorites.)
